Use energy more efficiently and transition to lower carbon energy sources.

Embed Energy Management throughout the Trust and reduce carbon emissions from building energy use to zero carbon by 2040.

Combined, Heat and Power (CHP) – we have benefitted from using the waste heat from on-site electricity generation at the RVI and Freeman Hospitals.

Energy Audits, including;

  • lighting audits – identified potential to reduce energy demand by installing LED lighting and improved controls,
  • heat audits – identified options for better use of the waste heat mentioned above,
  • building audits – understand where heat and power is being used and where efficiencies might be possible.

Embedding energy in processes Trustwide so that energy and carbon are considered when buying new products, specifying designs and implementing new projects.

Improving metering and data management to allow us to identify opportunities to reduce waste.
